Mediterranean vs Atlantic Arc

Although France has a very good tourism record, this must be qualified by taking into account geographical disparities, with a country roughly divided in two during the summer season. The Mediterranean regions showed strong momentum, while the "Atlantic arc", from the Channel to the southwest, recorded a sharp decline in attendance. This reversal compared to the two previous years is largely explained by particularly unstable weather in June and July.

Some destinations, particularly the Atlantic coast, have however found their colours again from the end of August, thanks to a favourable late season and an increase in demand, especially for camping, a tourist offer particularly appreciated in a context of tension on household purchasing power. This dynamic late season across the majority of the territory should thus make it possible to standardize the balance sheet between the territories.
